06 QUICK START USER MANUAL ENVOY
2.4 ENVOY Uncovered
The cover slides onto the ENVOY body and is secured
with 2 small countersunk screws. Once the cover is
removed, the circuit boards can be accessed. Please
ensure that components are protected from damage
due to static discharge or water damage. The only
user-servicable part is the DIP switch selection.
2.4.1 ENVOY DIP Switches
Switch 1
Up – Connects the external screw terminal labelled
PLLEX to EX2 on the CR200X.
Down – Connects the external screw terminal
labelled PLLEX to PLL on the CR200X.
Switch 2
Up – Connects the external screw terminal labelled
SE2 to SE2 on the CR200X.
Down – Connects the external screw terminal
labelled SE2 to SE4 on the CR200X via a precision 100 Ohm resistor. This could be used to convert a 4-20mA sensor
output to 0.4–2.0 Volts, suitable for the CR200X’s single-ended voltage input (2500mV range).
Switch 3
Up – Connects the external screw terminal labelled SE1 to SE1 on the CR200X.
Down – Connects the external screw terminal labelled SE1 to SE3 on the CR200X via a precision 100 Ohm resistor.
This could be used to convert a 4-20mA sensor output to 0.4–2.0 Volts, suitable for the CR200X’s single-ended
voltage input (2500mV range).
Switch 4
Up – Forces the RS232 data lines from the CR200X to always connect to the DB9.
Down – Allows the RS232 data lines to switch to the modem when the DB9 port is not in use. The DB9 port is
considered in use when DTR (Pin 4 on the DB9) is high. When DTR is low or open (e.g. cable disconnected),
communication is automatically switched to the modem.
